One day or day one, you decide. You desire great things in your life, yet you are wasting time in not chasing after them. At some point, you are fed up, make another commitment to yourself, but still do not follow through. You have many wishful thoughts, but you keep hesitating. So what is the answer?
Are you doing the things you should do to get where you want to be? Do you wait for the time to be right? What dream or vision do you want to turn into reality? Are you practicing self-discipline in your life? Do you want to win?
Numerous people want so much, yet, do very little. It is fascinating to see society walking around with tons of dreams, objectives and hopeful thinking, but just not going for it. You know you have to do it. And for some reason, it is difficult to decide and gather the willpower to simply get started.
But I believe that anyone can do anything. You merely have to decide and figure things out, no matter the time it takes. Never stop no matter how slow you move. Young people are being raised in a generation of people that come up with every excuse in the book as to why they are not winning.
The Decision to Get Started
Yes, getting started is hard. The secret to decide, begin and maintain momentum lies in learning. Success is eighty percent psychological and twenty percent mechanical. Most people live in their heads. They have their dreams and their goals. Many get pumped up at first but then, get fearful about what could happen and in the end, do not execute.
You have to unchain your mind. In life, there are losers and people who have not learned how to win. Losers have usually become good at quitting. Those who have not learned may have got really comfortable about ending the race before the finish line.
You have your reasons for not finishing something, and I have mine too. But right now, as you read this, my question to you is: “What do you decide, is it one day or day one?”
Decide – One Day or Day One
A new mindset and new habits require tremendous self-will. You may never feel like starting, and you might not ever be ready, but there is no right time. So if you decide that this is day one, then suck it up, give yourself a push and get on with it. Once you start, you need to maintain momentum.
How many times people make promises to themselves. But then, time passes by, and everything remains the same. The promised resolution has not begun. The dream is not yet realized. Many are trapped on “one day” and overlook that any time could be “day one.” You are the only person in charge of the decision you need in your life.
Therefore, it is lack of attitude and commitment to the dreams and goals ahead of us. Most people have so little discipline while others have no idea where to begin. The truth is, if you want something, you have to decide to make it happen. It might take time to get there, but, with focus, sooner or later, you will reach success.
Decide on Being Self-Disciplined
Self-discipline separates people from success and the unsuccessful. I have never met a person who is not successful that did not have a considerable amount of discipline within their life. Self-discipline is being able to perform, keep your life on schedule, cling to commitments, promises and meet deadlines. It is essential to success.
Therefore, it is waking up early and going to bed late and grinding out every second in between. And you have to decide to do it every single day, including weekends. If you want to be successful, have an abundant life, possess freedom and get time with family, have choices and do what you want, you have to get discipline.
Remember when you were a child and decided to set dreams for yourself. They were big, huge, and even giant. These goals had nothing to do with reason. But then you forgot them, difficulties got in the way, or you made the decision they were impossible to reach.
Decide what Type of Person to Be
The reason is that someone close said that your dreams were too unrealistic. They said you should keep your feet on the ground and get lower goals. You decide they might be right. But then forty years pass and you end up with nothing.
And it is indeed not anything that is corresponding to your potential. None of us can afford to have a life that is controlled by someone else. Or be controlled by our emotions. I learned many years ago that there are two kinds of people.
The first type says “I am going to wait until I feel like it or when the time is right before I do it.” And then there is the other type that says: “I decide I have to do it so that I may be successful.” One will never get anything done because they still waiting for the feel or the time to be right. And the others who decide to move have the realization that they begin to feel the moment.
Decide to Unchain Your Mind
Most people have strategies available. They can get or create them, yet something always gets in the way. These people have a story why it is not working. The story is that they have tried everything. But if you tried every single thing, you would be successful.
So, you have to decide to unchain your mind from the limitations and embrace the truth of your unlimited capacity. And you will see the game-changing. Many individuals, when making a change, are often trying to improve their lives by ten percent. They only work to increase things by small increments.
But the fact of the matter is that there are those in the world that goes ten times bigger. And you can decide to do it also, as anyone can. It is your responsibility to fulfill your potential, and when you think about it, that is what success is actually.
Decide to Be Hungry for More
You have to decide to get very hungry for the things you want in your life. Know that when you are so hungry, so eager, your brain starts coming up with answers. And then you have to take massive action with efficient execution which you can model off successful people.
Thus, find the best examples to compress the time you need to create success. So that, what someone else takes twenty years to figure out, you do it in three years or even one. And yet, if you have no idea how to solve it, or how to get there, you might be amazed at what you can do or come up with.
What is interesting is that your past anchors place you to where you are today. So, you have to let go of the stuff of your past and the infrastructure that you built to be free. You are not your feelings or your patterns. They are just things you are identifying, so when a habit does not work, just decide to replace it with a better one.
Decide to Have No Regrets
Most of the close people will always tell us not start a business or to get involved in some crazy dream. But to succeed, you have to decide to take a chance. If you are to listen to others, you would not do anything. Not everyone has the willpower to achieve their dreams.
If you feel like you have to do things which seem impossible or unrealistic to other people, decide to do them anyway. Better to try and fail than never have tried at all. Do not be concerned about the opinion of others; they are only opinions, not facts.
However, regrets are much scarier than failure. You do not want to sit there at seventy-five, and say “I wish I did.” So many people are talking about how big they are going to be or what they are going to achieve, and yet they do not work on weekends.
Decide to Read More
You have to make a schedule and stick to it. Stop changing your path or giving up when things do not work right away. You are what you consistently do. If you look at your calendar, you can see what you do on a regular basis. And that is what is going to determine your future path.
If you want to be in the game and be successful, decide to read more. The average person reads only one book a year. Most successful people read four to five books a month which is sixty books a year. You have to immerse yourself in books, audio, and video daily.
So, you have to hit all three of those. Decide to read, listen and watch something. These are entirely different ways to learn. Find videos that are good for you. As you work hard, get totally focused, and execute what works, you will be successful.
Decide to Be Successful
There is a science to be successful. It does not matter who you are because as you do certain things, you will have stress. But if you do other things, you will get abundance. There are basics which, if you follow them, you will get where you want. And if you break them, you will pay the price.
Therefore, think and decide what you want different in your life. Consider how you can reach your dreams, goals and how important they are for you. It is the only way for you to start your journey to success.
So decide. Adjust. Grow. Develop. Remember your values, get new habits, and you do not lose yourself along the path to success. Build a life you do not need an escape from. There is no point in wasting time. Do something today that your future self will thank you for. Start today. So let it be day one!
